Principal Engineer

Hi, I’m Jordan.

I’m interested in how AI is changing the way we build software, and what that means for us as engineers.

I’ve been a software engineer for over ten years. I’ve worked in startups of all shapes and sizes, from native apps to services handling millions of daily requests. Along the way I’ve run businesses, pitched for investment and done sales. You really do wear many hats.

That background shapes how I think about engineering. Understanding the problem, talking to the people who have it and working out what’s worth building are all part of the job. So is taking responsibility for what happens after it ships.

AI is changing how much one engineer can take on. I’m interested in how we use that well: bringing agents into our workflows, making better decisions and keeping security in view as we move faster.

Forward Thinking is where I write about that shift and what I learn along the way. What I’m trying, where it helps and where it falls short. I’m working it out as I go.
